Stalybridge Celtic Whites 1-4 East Levenshulme By Phil Read It was a case of Jekell and Hyde with the teams performances today having played so well in the first of the games but lacklustre in the second. The whites were slow off the mark and never really got to the pace of the game so it was not surprising when they found themselves 1:0 down. The only opportunity the Whites managed to create before half time was when Callum found himself with space just outside the box but pulled his shot wide. After the break things went from bad to worse as the Whites found themselves 3:0 down before they had an opportunity to respond when Jack fired a shot towards goal but was matched by a fine save from the keeper. Even then they failed to stop the rot and were 4:0 down before Jordan pulled a goal back to 4:1. Shortly after the goal there were slight glimpses of how the Whites are capable of playing but the game eventually fizzled out in to a 4:1 defeat.

Stalybridge Celtic Whites 8-0 Failsworth West Panthers By Phil read The whites started the game brightly and soon found themselves in control of the game. Josh F was making some telling runs down the wing and it was not surprising when Nic put the team ahead. The lads were playing the ball around well and soon after Callum extended the lead and Nic doubled his tally for the game before Shay sent the team in 4:0 up at half time. Alex and Jack were also controlling the defensive line leaving Josh with little to do. In the second half the whites continued where the finished the first and were 5:0 up soon after the break with a goal from Jordan. Midway through the half Shay found a shot saved on to the post by the keeper but Jordan was on hand to grab his second goal of the game. Sam and Luke played at the back and other than one save from Josh contained the oposition. Rhys set up the finale by grabbing the 7th goal and had a hand in the final goal when he hit a free kick that was ... Read the rest of this article...

Stalybridge Celtic Whites 0-2 Boundary Park A By Phil Read The Whites started the game the brighter of the 2 teams and were soon on the attack with Nic placing a header just wide. Soon after Jordan brought a save out of the keeper as did Alex with a shot later on in the half. However, the Whites did not make the most of the pressure and went in at half time with the score level. The second half started similar but unfortunately the writing was on the wall and Boundary Park took the lead when a fortuitous shot took a deflection in to the back of the net. Soon after Josh was forced in to a one on one save to keep the score as it was and also plucked another shot out of the air but all was in vain as Boundary Park extended their lead to 2:0 just before full time when the Whites were pushing the for equalizer. MOM: Nic

Stalybridge Celtic Whites 4-3 Stalybridge Celtic Blues By Phil Read The Whites started the brighter of the two teams and early on in the first half created a couple of opportunities but were confidently dealt with by Lewis. The Whites did take advantage of the early pressure taking the lead when Josh F found the back of the net and Shay doubled their lead moments later despite Nathan's best efforts to clear the ball. However, the Blues continued to work hard and showed promising signs testing Josh R from distance. The Blues then pulled a goal back just before half time when Nathan hit a free kick in to the top of the net. The Blues continued to grow in confidence and it was no surprise when they equalised and soon after took the lead with brace from Marcus. Nic then equalised with a free kick albeit Lewis continued to play well with two fine saves firstly diving at the feet of Jordan and then from Callum. However, with only a minute or two left on the clock the B... Read the rest of this article...

Stalybridge Celtic Whites 3-1 Failsworth West Lions The Whites returned to action against the Lions and early on in the game found themselves 1:0 up when Jordan picked up a loose ball and fired home. Unfortunately, the rest of the half turned in to a scrappy game although with Sam and Luke excellent at the back didn't really look under threat. The second half continued with the scrappy play and as a result the Lions seised their opportunity to level early in the half. The Whites did gradually start to gel with Josh F and Jack working hard. It was therefore not surprising when Shay found the back of the net to regain the lead midway through the half. The move of the match followed soon after when Callum picked up the ball in his own half, playing it out to Nic on the wing who played a pin point pass throught to Shay who placed the ball in to the corner of the net. Josh F was unlucky to not find the back of the net hitting a fine volley from another fine cros... Read the rest of this article...

Stalybridge Celtic Whites 1-3 West End Wolves By Phil Read The Whites started the top of the table clash being the brighter of the 2 teams with both Callum and Nic firing just over the bar from distance. It was therefore no suprise when they finally took the lead with Callum finding the net. Sam and Alex were excellent in defence managing to thwart any attack. The pressure continued with Jack bringing out a save from the keeper and with Nic creating plenty of opportunities down the wing further chances were created with Shay hitting the cross bar and later on bringing out a save from the keeper. Half time arrived and the only disappointment was that the scoreline was only 1:0. The second half was unfortunately quite the opposite with few chances being created and with a bit of misfortune from a clearance found themselves pegged back to 1:1. Moments later a harmless ball appeared to bounce back off the side board to be put in to the White's net only for the ref to allow it to... Read the rest of this article...

Stalybridge Celtic Whites 3-0 By Phil Read. The Whites started the second of the day's games a little slow, and with East Levenshulme up for the game what should have been a formality turned in to a midfield battle. What little opportunity was created, the goalkeeper was a match  for, or it was blocked by their defence resulting in the scoreline being 0:0 at half time. The beginning of the second half was much the same and fortunately Alex was excellent in defence so at least our own goal was being well protected. Part way through the second half Callum started to control the midfield and with Nic and Jack working the wings the goals eventually came with Jack, Shay and Rhys putting the Whites 3:0 up with a few minutes to go. However, to give the opposition credit their heads did not drop and had it not been for two fine saves from Josh it could have been a nervous last minute or two. MOM Alex.

Stalybridge Celtic Whites 4-0 Moston Brook By Phil Read The Whites got off to a fine start at the weekend and were unfortunate to not take the lead early on with Rhys hitting the cross bar twice.Rhys did manage to find the back of the net midway through the half before it was Alex's turn to hit the woodwork who with Sam at the back was also putting in a fine defensive performance. Shortly before half time Shay doubled the lead. In the second half the Whites were straight on the attack with Shay bringing out save from the keeper. Josh replaced Rhys on the wing and made a couple of decent runs down the right with Jack doing the same on the left who made the most of the space created extending the lead to 3:0. Before time was up Luke was able to round up the scoring with a fine shot from the edge of the box to finsh the first of the games 4:0. MOM Rhys

STALYBRIDGE CELTIC BLUES ‘4’- FAILSWORTH WEST PANTHERS ‘1’ By Alan Davies   The last game of the league season and Celtic proved that they are the best team in the league. Panthers came out to win the game but Celtic proved to good for them. The game was quite even in the opening minutes with both teams creating chances. Celtic opened the scoring with Jordan taking advantage of a ball dropped by the keeper. Celtic were comfortable with Marcus in midfield and Nathan at the back with Mat secure in goal. The teams went in at half time with Celtic 1-0 up. The second half saw Celtic push forward for a second which came with a through ball from Ryan to see Jordan with a little chip over the keeper. Panthers then scored which came from nothing with a shot across the box that sneaked into the far corner. Celtic then went down the other end and again Jordan was on hand after the keeper dropped the ball. This secured victory and Ryan finished well to make it four. ... Read the rest of this article...

Stalybridge Celtic Whites 2-0 Moston Junior Blues By Phil Read The Whites entered the top of the table clash in fine spirit and were on the front foot from the start with Callum firing just wide and then moments later Jack hit the cross bar. At the same time, what little danger Moston did present was swept up by Alex and Sam. Midway through the first half the Whites made their pressure tell when Rhys fired in a shot that was half cleared but Callum was on hand to find the back of the net. The pressure was maintained and Shay was unlucky to not extend the lead when he got a shot away picking up a ball from Rhys and working the keeper despite being under pressure. The dominance of the midfield was starting to show and when Rhys found himself in acres of space on the right he finished off a flowing move finding the bottom corner of the net to extend the lead to 2:0.Despite all the possession there was a wake up call late on in the half when Moston found themselves one on one with Josh ...
