This really was two fantastic games to watch. Delamere are a physically big and strong team but the teams gave as good as they got. The whites lead their game but then went 4 goals behind. Sheer will and tenacity got them back into the game through some great team play. The Blues game looked every bit of a nil nil and but for a solitary free kick it would have been. In both games both teams were cruising at 1-0 in the first halves, then the lack of match action and training over the past 3/4 weeks showed in the second halves where neither teams players had the energy to match their undoubted enthusiasm. The Corinthians team is much talked about but it was the S/B boys and girl who were head and shoulder above until the lack of match fitness led to errors and subsequent goals against. In the Blues match Jack scored a great arrow like goal and Lewis McMinn played with true skill to match his gritty enthusiasm. The games were a good, clean 1st division battle which Glossop just happened to be more clinical within. Stalybridge had chances in both games. For the Whites the goals came from a long range spectacular effort by Thomas Reynolds and a typical yet equally spectacular mazy direct run by William Hughes. The Glossop Manager confirmed after the game that this was the best he has seen his team play against the whites and the first game where they had different goalscorers. Stalybridge Celtic U8s lost in the semi final of the Primary Cup against a star studded Marple team. Both the Whites and Blues gave it their all but came up against the might of Marple who simply stopped them in their tracks, with quality. Players of the match were Olivia Quinn (Whites), Cameron Preston (Whites/ Blues), Harvey Swann (Blues), all of whom gave that little bit more than their team mates. But this is not to say their team mates didnt try their hardest. Cameron played his part in goal for both teams in light of Williams Frankish' absence due to sickness thus freeing up the regular 50/50 goalkeepers Jack and Jamie, and Cameron performed heroics in both games. Joint 3rd in the number 1 cup competition in the best league in Manchester is a great effort by the team and every player should be proud of the part they played.

For both teams this was in every sense of the word a battle. Tough tackles, very tough tackles, injured players Curzon were out to disrupt the flow of both teams play. After a considered team talk, the game plan was to press the opposition, and restrict time and space as Dukinfield thrive off this in games.
