Finally a win to show the quality for the team. For the first real instance this season the team played as a team, attacking en mass, defending en mass, attacking threats a plenty.
The game was controlled by Brad Cooper who was the teams creative influence but his job was made easier by the movement of the front 2 Lochlann and Jack Searle, the tiger like midfield engines, the composed defending led by Kyle and the ever present Best Goalkeeper in the League Aiden.
All who watched the game enjoyed watching the team dismantle a good AFC Stanley team, leave them with only scraps of attacking chances, long shots which Aiden easily handled. The Whites hit the post twice and had up to 5 other clear missed opportunities. The cream of the goals was another spectacular effort from Brad Cooper, another 30 yard arching thunderbolt. The season is nearly over for the team but hope this result gives them the confidence ...

As with the Under 7s this was a game of two halves. In the first half the team gave Chadderton too much respect, stood back and watched them take part in shooting practice against Aiden. Going into half time 5-0 down I feared for a cricket score.
But the team learnt from their lessons, closed down Chadderton, made their star players anonymous in the 2nd half and lost the 2nd half 1-0.
I cant say this has been a game of improvement by the team but the 2nd half certainly gave hope

If the weather was bad yesterday, try playing a match on top of table mountain (Brushes) within a gale force wind.
Safe to say the wind dominated the game. In the first half Mossley went 2 - 0 up after taking advantage of the wind behind them and pumping the ball over the defence and running onto it. It took 30 minutes for the defence to get used to this style of play but in the conditions faced it worked.
Then for the 2nd half we pushed our attackers onto the shoulders of Mossleys defence, dropped our usual passing game and looked for balls over the top of the opposition. Brad Cooper scored a 35 yard long range wind assisted looping goal and James Bowker ran onto a goalkeeping fumble to bring the team level, a fair result all round. This being said we did hit the post and crossbar on 3 occasions but a draw seemed fair.
