STALYBRIDGE CELTIC U11,s  0  v  0  CHADDERTON U11,s Stalybridge win on Pens 6-5   Who said 0-0 draws are boring ? Well this had it all except a goal which Celtic really did deserve. Stalybridge started the better of the two teams and knocked the ball about with real confidence on a very wet and sticky pitch. Celtic dominated long spells of the game but could not finish and as the game went on Chadderton started to play some nice football themselves and created a few good chances but James was again on top of his game to keep out the Chadderton attacks. As the game neared the end Celtic had some excellent possession and pushed on looking for that all important goal but today was one of them days and it wasn’t to be , the referee blew his whistle and it was a PENALTY SHOOT OUT !!!!!!!  Very cruel as both teams gave it their all and it's an awful way for young lads to loose a game of football but there can only be one winner.   We chose our...  STALYBRIDGE CELTIC U11,s  4  v  3  CHADDERTON U11,S   Josh 2, Joel 1 , Arron 1.       After a whirlwind start and  some breathtaking football, Celtic were 3-0 up with only 10 minutes on the clock . A fine run from his own half saw Josh weave in and out of the Chadderton defence and unleash an unstoppable shot to put the mighty Celts one up. Only minutes later a great ball lobbed into the Chadderton box saw Joel take the shot on first time with an unbelievable overhead kick that flew past a gob smacked keeper and made it two, and then our captain fantastic popped up to make it 3-0 with a cool finish from just inside the box. Unfortunately Celtic could not kick on and put the game out of Chaddertons reach as the away team started to play some neat passing football and their possession paid off as they took advantage of some sloppy defending to make it 3-1 and almost straight away  Chadderton were on the attack again only for...  STALYBRIDGE CELTIC "BLUES" U11,s  7  -  1  CLAYTON U11,s   I must start by apologising for not keeping you up to date with match reports so I will try my best to post every week now until the end of the season as it looks like its going to be a very interesting run in. Thank you to all parents today for travelling down to Clayton for what should have been our home fixture but I'm sure you all went away with big smiles on your faces as once again our boys did us proud. I feel that in our last 2 training sessions our boys have worked incredibly hard and have been very focused and I have been really pleased that we have been able to put this in to practice on the Football field on a Saturday morning. Unfortunately for Clayton we kicked into gear straight away today and on the FEW occasions this season that this has happened we have blown our opponents away and today was no exception. On a very wet and sticky pitch o... Read the rest of this article...

CHADDERTON  U11,s  4  -  3  STALYBRIDGE CELTIC U11,s   After last weeks great performance against Stanley the boys came crashing back down with a defeat to a well organised Chadderton side. It seems to be the way we start every game these days , the away team scores and then we kick into life and fight back unfortunately this was not to be the case today. Yes we gave an early lead away but we never really looked like we were going to kick on and win the game, even when Curtis bravely went in with the keeper to get the equaliser. Chadderton soon went 2-1 up in the second half with some poor play but we pulled it straight back through a great finish from Joel Hadfield. Chadderton then took advantage of some very sloppy defending and soon had a two goal cushion going into the last 15 minutes of the game. Some good pressure saw Joel go clear again and finished well to set up a tense finish but we just didn't have enough to troub... Read the rest of this article...

STALYBRIDGE CELTIC "BLUES" U11,S  3 - 1  AFC Stanley   Celtic put in another top quality performance to beat a strong AFC Stanley side and it could have been a much bigger score line but for the woodwork. Celtic started brightly and were putting pressure on early with some good slick passing but unfortunately the final pass was just letting us down , and when the referee missed a blatant handball and play was allowed to continue the ball found its way into our penalty area where we were deemed to have committed a handball and a penalty was awarded and converted from the resulting kick. Our boys kept there heads up and before the break grabbed the equaliser with a neat finish from our inform striker Ellis. Straight after the break Celtic won the ball and a great through ball from midfield found Ellis who lost his marker with a quick turn of speed and tucked the ball away for his second of the game. From there on in Celtic took really took the game to Stan... Read the rest of this article...

STALYBRIDGE CELTIC"BLUES" U11,s   9  -  0   WATERLOO U11,s   Another great performance from the boys saw them destroy Waterloo and go top of the East Manchester League.   In a first half dominated by Celtic and helped by some goalkeeping errors the boys shot into a 5-0 lead with goals from  Ellis Kostyk 2 , Josh Graham 1 , Arron Scholes 1 and Nile Gibbs 1.   The second half started in very much the same way the first half ended with some excellent passing and some good movement and it wasn't long before Josh got in behind the defence for his second.  The boys kept up the tempo and the goals just kept coming with Josh and Ellis both completing their hat-tricks and Nile grabbing his second of the day. Man of the match went to Brad for another great performance (MR RELIABLE) his tackling and distribution was fantastic and his free kicks led to a couple of our goals.   Well done and keep ... CLAYTON   u11's   2 - 8   STALYBRIDGE CELTIC BLUES U11's This was a fantastic TEAM performance and eveyone played their part , if the boys can play anything like this every week then we are in for a great season as the boys entertained us today with some very classy football. The first half was all one way traffic as we had attack after attack and our presure finally payed off after 10 minutes as George Smith lost his marker to slide the ball home after good work from Aaron Scholes. Aaron then got on the score sheet himself with a neat finish and then for the goal of the game from Brad , he neatly flicked the ball over the defenders head, turned and smashed the ball home from the edge of the area, 3-0. Before the break Ellis and Josh were on the score sheet with good individual goals as they left the defence for dead and neatly slotted home. Straight after the break Clayton hit back as our boys failed to clear the ball but within minutes... Read the rest of this article...

REDDISH VILLA U11s  4 - 2  STALYBRIDGE CELTIC BLUES U11s    On a very windy and disappointing day we crashed out of the Primary Cup at the first hurdle. Reddish a league below Celtic started the better and soon found themselves 2-0 up , both goals gifted to them.  It was then that our boys decided to wake up and they started to play some good passing football causing Reddish some real problems and when the referee awarded us a free kick  on the edge of the area up stepped Captain fantastic, Josh Graham to lift the ball to an unmarked Brad Mcglochlin who side footed home. GAME ON !!!  Celtic continued to push forward and were again awarded a free kick on the edge of the area. Josh stepped up again but this time he only had one thing in his mind and he smashed the ball home , 2-2 could it be Waterloo all over again where we came from 2 down to win 4-2 ?   Half time came at the wrong time for Celtic who were enjoying much... URMSTON TOWN COLTS U'11s    0-11    STALYBRIDGE CELTIC BLUES U'11s   After 5 minutes of this game it was obvious to see that there was only going to be one winner and it was just a case of how many the MIGHTY BLUES would score. At half time Celtic came off 4-0 up and it could have been a lot more but for some wasted opportunities. Celtic started the second half with the same confidence as they finished the first and were soon on the score sheet again , for the remainder of the game Celtic played with a tempo that was much to fast  for Urmston and the goals came thick and fast .The game finished 11-0 to the blues. This was a great result and the football that was played was excellent given that this was played on a very poor pitch that did us no favours although I do belive the mole that popped up on the left wing had a hand in the 3rd goal !!!! A fine hat trick from Aaron Scholes , Charlie Hirst 2 , George Smith 2 , Ellis Kostyk 1 , Ry... Read the rest of this article...
