Next season's under 10s are looking for experienced players to join the East Manchester Primary Cup winners. Having lost lads to professional clubs, Celtic require footballers of a good standard to join the squad for pre-season training from July.
If you are interested please call the manager, Dave Dickin, on 07846 733785.

The Under 10's won Duky Tigers 7.0 & 2.0 to finish the season in style after the disappointment of losing 1.0 to Glossop in the semi final last week.
The A team won 7.0 thanks to goals from Morgan, Josh & Jamie. It was a great team display right from Gary in goal who has finished the season in fantastic form. Sean won the man of the match again through a faultless display in defence, he read the game well & was covered by Luke when req'd. This was only Lukes second game in defence & gave the coaches something to think about. Alex put in some telling balls as Aaron & Stuckey came on to add some urgency to the game. Josh started off like Berbatov spooning his chances until he got his Tevez boots on. The lads finally started to knock it around in the second half & finished the gam well in what has been an enjoyable season probably finishing third after a slow start.
The B team won 2.0 after 2 goals from Jamie D. This was a closer game with the team initially...

The B team had a great night with a 2-1 win over title chasing Glossop with a hard fought 0-0 for the A team.
The B team looked strong from the start with a full stength team out. George had one of his quieter games but stood strong with Fletch at the back who drove the team on well. Lewis had a hard game against some big lads but held the team together with some great passing. Ethan & Thomas stole the show, both giving 110% on the wings, fantastic work rate tracking back & providing great wide attacking options for Lewis. The team looks better with Thomas back in the side & he and Ethan both put in some telling crosses, Ethan scoring a deflection of one of his & then netting after a great drive from Thomas. Garrett worked hard in a new role & Jamie & Josh tried hard but were up against it against the big Glossop defenders. Glossop sneaked one at the end but the lads stood firm to record a great win. Ethan just pipped Thomas to the Man ...

The Under 10's are to have open trials in May to form 2 teams next season.
We plan to have a Saturday & Sunday team so will need extra players. We have already had quite a bit of interest as some lads want to play for Celtic just Sunday & stay where they are on Saturdays, or visa versa so all are welcome.
Please contact John Evans or Jon Tennant for further details.

A lot has happen since the last U10's update but both teams have benefitted from the extra training. The A team are playing great flowing football & having won the League cup are now in the semi final against Duky Youth A team having already knocked out their B team in the Challenge cup.
The B team have lost Owen but look stronger for the return of Thomas after a month away. Unfortunately holidays and missing players have forced them to play tough cup games without a full strength side, beaten by Chaddy End A team 1.0 to miss out on the semi finals. We've just missed that one extra player this year and I know the lads are disappointed but they can still push for the league or runners up spot with a better return than the A team lads, which is a great result given the bulk of them have fought in most matches, only losing out by a lack of steel by the odd player when it mattered.

The Under 10's A team won Failsworth 4-3 in a thrilling encounter. The lads went 2-0 up inside 10 minutes after Josh Lowe first hit a low one, then did a Beckham from the half way line into the top corner. Failsworth got one back quickly before Stuckey chased down a crosscumshot off Alex to put us in 3-1 at half time. Failsworth got one back straight from the off in the second half to put the pressure on with Gary pulling off some great saves to keep us in it. Morgan was on fire, supported by Stuckey we countered at pace, fed by Jamie & Alex. Fresh legs in Aaron, Luke & Sean help us stand stong & Josh Lowe drove the team forward duly collecting the man of the match award.

A brilliant day for the Stalybridge Celtic Lads. The A team beat Duky Youth 2-0 to reach the final of the league cup.
The B team were looking strong at 0-0 only for the game to be postponed due to the heavy pitch.
The A team won every ball from the kick off. They showed real heart & determiniation which won them the game against a very good Duky team. Stucky worked his socks off, giving their defenders no time to settle. He linked well with midfield & always gave the team an option. Alex showed his usual class, out wide today but he didn't give an inch. Morgan dropped to midfield, and although tired, held his position well & always posed a threat going forward. Jamie Derbyshire, wide right, had the pace to beat the Ducky defence every time he drove at them which led to the first goal after linking well with Morgan & Stucky. Josh Lowe & Sean were imense at the back. They worked together really well, Josh closing down, wining all the h...

The under 10's had the luck against them both losing to Glossop, 3-2 & 2-1.
The Scorpions had to start without Gary Flowers in net as we couldn't switch the game, which meant him driving 100 miles to make it by half time which the team really appreciated. as he was quickly in thown into action, being quick & brave from the the start. We started with Josh in net & after weathering in the early storm the Celtic lads got on top. Sean played well on his own in defence with Alex just ahead of him carrying the ball out well. Morgan dropped into central midfield & is putting in great performances now every week. The whole team played well with Stucky, Aaron ,Jamie working the wings & Luke upfront all holding their shape. With goals from Stucky & Morgan, Gary in net & Josh back in central midfield we tried in vain to finish off Glossop when leading 2-1 but we could just not get the 3rd goal. In the last 5 minutes the lads ran out...

The under 10's enjoyed a great day with the Scorpions winning 10-0 & Cobra's winning 9-0.
The Scorpions started brightly in another new formation for the lads to try. We have to challenge them against teams from the lower half of the league & today they really understood what we asked them to do & it was great to see their development.
Alex & Josh ran the show from the start, communicating very well & covering each other as they took it in turns to attack. They linked very well with Morgan who dropped to receive the ball a lot more today & looked better for it in probably his best game of the season. Stuckey & Jamie held their shape to create good outlets for the middle 3 & when Aaron & Luke came on in the first half they slotted straight in very well. In the second half it was not a fluent but by then all the lads wanted a goal so we had to keep rolling the lads...

The Under 10's B team came from behind to win 3-2 away at 3D's, whilst the A team should be awarded a 1-0 win after Ashton United failed to turn up for the game.
The Cobra's were evenly matched against 3D's A team, with both teams going for the win in a great open game. 3D's started brightly & got an early goal after some half hearted tackles from the Bridge lads, with Aidan Winterbottom keeping Celtic in the game on his first really busy day of the season, even saving a penalty to keep us in it at 1.0 down. Matty Flecther stormed through for an equaliser but 3D's scored on the stroke of half time to go in 2.1 up. To their credit the lads came out in the second half determined to win. George & Garrett stood solid at the back with Owen pushing into midfield, holding his shape & spraying the ball around. Ethan, Josh & Jamie worked hard out wide & provided some good crosses for Fletch, who grabbed 2 goals & Man of the Match against hi...
