MOSTON JUNIORS BLUES 1 V 6 SCJFC WHITES A great game today for any spectator with 2 very good teams going head to head. The first half was a very tight game with Celtic way off their usual best and some players showing little commitment or desire for the team. Celtic still managed to carve out some opportunities but we were not alert enough to take them, while Moston also had some great chances though Jack did some splendid saves to keep the young Celts in the Game. With 4 mins to Half time a s... Read the rest of this article...

STALYBRIDGE CELTIC ‘A’ 1 v 0 CHADDERTON PARK EAGLES By Alan Davies   The ‘A’ team were back to full strength this week and immediately showed improvement. With Sam as the outlet up front a more confident passing and moving display proved to much for Chaddy Park. Although Celtic had most of the possession they could not fashion a goal. A frustrating half finished at 0-0 with Alex having a good display at the back and again Mathew comfortable in goal. The second half started as... Read the rest of this article...

Failsworth West B 2-2 Stalybridge B By Joanne Wood Last week's defeat and the cancellation of this week's training session did not deter the team's enthusiasm with some great team play and passing being witnessed and the match proving to be an exciting one from start to finish.  Stalybridge got off to an encouraging start and took the lead within a couple of minutes with a well taken goal from George who drove the ball into the bottom left-hand corner of the net.  Despite nu... Stalybridge Celtic and Curzon Ashton under 9s somehow failed to find a goal between them in two engrossing goalless draws at Wright Robinson School on Saturday morning.  The games really could have gone either way if both teams defences had not been in such fine form.   The 'B' team kicked things off, and worked tirelessly all game to keep the opposition's attacks to a minimum.  James produced one fine stop in the second half, brilliantly pushing the ball round the post at ... SCJFC WHITES 9 V 1 HEYSIDE JUNIORS Another fine performance this week against a physically strong Heyside. Within the first few moments Celtic were creating chances, but it was Heyside who took the lead through a well hit free kick. The Celts never gave up and it was only a  matter of minutes before Declan put the Whites level. Minutes later Niall put the whites in front to go in at half time 2-1 up. Second half the whites began to flex their muscles with some superb passing and moving wh... Read the rest of this article...

SCJFC Blues 3 V 1 Broadway Celtic ...By PETER ROBERTS   The Blues returned to winning ways with a solid win against an improving Broadway Celtic. The boys played some very good football at times, but will need a greater level of consistency to reproduce this type of result against the top teams in this league. The Blues started the game well and came close to opening the scoring twice before Broadway took a shock lead. The goal came from a good move from the left and excellent cross that... A fine run from his own half saw Josh weave in and out of the Chadderton defence and unleash an unstoppable shot to put the mighty Celts one up. Only minutes later a great ball lobbed into the Chadderton box saw Joel take the shot on first time... Read the rest of this article...

STALYBRIDGE CELTIC ‘A’ 0 v 2 BOUNDARY PARK JUNIORS By Alan Davies   Celtic were missing Sam this week and it showed on the pitch. Celtics passing game was not evident and Boundary took advantage early on and scored after some pressure. Mathew in goal was put under wave after wave of attacks as Boundary kept pushing forward as Celtic could not clear their lines. Celtic’s attacks were quickly dealt with as Nathan and Jack tried to relieve the pressure. A change at half time with Ale... Read the rest of this article...

A brilliant day for the Stalybridge Celtic Lads. The A team beat Duky Youth 2-0 to reach the final of the league cup. The B team were looking strong at 0-0 only for the game to be postponed due to the heavy pitch. The A team won every ball from the kick off. They showed real heart & determiniation which won them the game against a very good Duky team.  Stucky worked his socks off, giving their defenders no time to settle. He linked well with midfield & always gave t... Read the rest of this article...

Stalybridge Celtic B 1-9 Heyside Juniors The change in the recent good weather also saw the end of our good run over the last few games. On a bitterly cold day a poor first half performance left us with too much to do in the second. Heyside were much quicker to the ball and our first touches, passing and tackling wasn't good enough gifting Heyside chances leaving us 7-0 down at the interval.   The second saw Rhys and Will come on...
