Stalybridge Celtic Whites 3-0 AFC Clayton By Lee Greenwood    The Whites returned to league action this week after successfully reaching the Cup Final the week before with AFC Clayton providing the opposition this time round. With Alex out with a nasty looking chin injury, Jack slotted in at the back to partner Sam. A strong midfield trio of Nick, Callum and Luke were comfortable from the outset linking well with lone striker Shay. For all the early possession the Whites could... Read the rest of this article...

Stalybridge Celtic Whites 6 v 2 Shawclough Goalscorers: Jordan Mirza (2), Liam Riley (2), Jake Maloney, Lewis Petruzelli M.O.M: Jack Searle This was a game of top vs the current second placed Stalybridge Celtic team. Within the first 10 minutes there was only one team in it with Stalybridge undertaking a full frontal attack on the Shawclough goal only to then receive a sucker punched clumsy goal conceded. This however didn't stop the boys it just riled them even more, with wave after wave... Read the rest of this article...

After several weeks with no competitive football the 15s took on Waterloo in the Cup and were knocked out in extra time. The day started badly after we arrived on Blocksages only to find the League had allocated our pitch to someone else (what's going on!!!?). Fortunately we were able to move to Armadale Road otherwise we would have had no football again this week. The game was a close even affair and we were all square at the end of eighty minutes, with Heapy scoring what can only be described ... Read the rest of this article...

Reddish North End 15's Vs Stalybridge Celtic JFC 15's A game which promised so much quickly turned into a Farce due to an unfit referee and a very abusive home crowd. Stalybridge started well but were let down by the referee for the first goal we conceded when 3 Reddish players were 6 yards offside and the ball was played over the top of the defence to one of their offside players leaving Kurt hopelessy exposed and they took the goal well ! 1-0 The second came from a defensive error whic... A sunday afternoon Kickoff at Blocksages, for a place in the Semi Final! Stalybridge started well and for 20 minutes we were giving the Griffins a game until a few defensive errors cost us dearly. A lack of communication between the back 4 and the keeper really put us under pressure. 4 goals conceded in a lacklustre 20 minute period of the first half meant Stalybridge had a mountain to climb in the second half, unfortunately we had no response and in the second half conceded once more. ... Stalybridge Celtic Whites 2-0 Moston Junior Blues By Phil Read The Whites returned to cup action this weekend with a mixed performance against Moston that eventually saw them through to the final. They nearly took the lead straight from the kick off when a shot from Callum on the half way line but thereafter chances were limited and the half gradually turned in to a midfield battle with neither keeper having much to do. Despite good work from Luke upfront and Jack down the left the score rema... Read the rest of this article...

STALYBRIDGE CELTIC BLUES ‘4’- BOUNDARY PARK B ‘0’ By Alan Davies   Celtic had a comfortable win on Saturday over Boundary. It took a few minutes for Celtic to get in their stride after a couple of weeks off. However it was Callum Dawson with his left foot yet again with a strike from outside the box who opened the scoring. Boundary defended in numbers and rarely had an attack which gave Nathan more space and it kept the pressure on. The half time score... Read the rest of this article...

There was a welcome return to league action for the under 11s on Saturday, after ice, snow and then a waterlogged pitch had meant this was only their second league game of 2012. However, another victory saw Celtic stretch their lead at the top of the Tameside Saturday League to seven points, with just four games to go.Elliot put Bridge in to the lead after just 3 minutes, but Withington were soon level when they smashed home a penalty after a foul in the box. Following that rather loud wake up c... Read the rest of this article...

Stalybridge Celtic Juniors Blues 2 – 2 Moston Brook   Goals: Joe, Josh MoM: Thomas The Blues had to make some last minute changes to their plans; with CJ already ruled out with illness, Jacob joined the ranks of those with the lurgy minutes before the match was about to start.   With such a defensive lynchpin missing it was a central defensive pairing of Josh and Fin that lined up in front of keeper Thomas, Matthew taking on midfield duties and Joe and Jack staring in the...
