Stalybridge Celtic Blues 0 v 2 AFC Clayton................By Alun Ireland.....................
The Blues' luck deserted them as they were unfortunate not to take a
point from an exciting encounter with Clayton.
The boys worked hard but the moves which came off to defeat Moston
Brook last week didnt always find their target, and a strong Clayton
side took full advantage.
In a tight first half played in poor conditions, both teams were even -
Deacon looking strong in go...

SCJFC U9's Whites 4 V 0 Failsworth Dynamo's Whites..........By Tim Kieran........................................................
A slightly disappointing first half with both teams finding it difficult to get going on a very cold but clear morning, understandable after a long break over Christmas and the cancelled games due to the snow.
Celtic were lucky not to go one down after a free kick was awarded to Failsworth with the resulting shot coming back off the post and scram...

Moston Brook 2 V 3 SCJFC U9s Blues...........By Alun Ireland
The Blues made it a happy new year as they outplayed one of the best
teams in the league to start 2011 with a win.
Playing their best football for months, the Blues were first to every
loose ball and constantly threatened their opponents’ goal with neat
passing moves.
With several chances missed, it was just what the boys deserved when
Connor worked hard to win the ball in the right corner, and squared a
love...

Stalybridge Celtic u9s had 3 teams in todays Junior Soccer Leagues 4 a side Christmas tournament at Curzon Ashtons Astroturf pitches.
The teams SCJFC Ronaldinho's, SCJFC Kaka's and SCJFC Lucio's All gave a great display today, with the Ronaldinho's and Kaka's both getting to the semi finals and unfortunately having to play each other.
The SCJFC Ronaldinhos were victorious after winning 4-0 and reaching the final scoring over 50 goals so far with not a single goal conceded, and with only 4 play...

SCJFC Whites were today victorious after winning yet another tournament in 2010.
The boys took maximum points in the group stage with 5 wins from 5, against some tough sides including Mossley Hill from Merseyside who are renound for producing very strong teams who play good entertaining football, and Hough End who had to beat us in the last group game to go through and tried to out muscle us, but as usual we continued to play football and won 2-0.
The SCJFC Blues were really unlucky ...

SCJFC Whites 12 v 0 ProSport Strikers.................
It was top versus bottom in todays game though within the first five minutes any neutral may have been mistaken in guessing who the top and bottom side were.
Pro sport were certainly looking the brighter team as the Celts just could not get going.
It needed someone to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and that player was Joe who went on a blistering run down the right hand flank to bury an unstoppable shot in the bottom of the lef...

Failsworth West Lions 1 v 4 SCJFC Blues.............By Alun Ireland................
Celtic put in their best performance since playing the Whites to take
all three points against a Failsworth West team for the first time.
The Blues were quickly into their stride to dominate the first half
against the Lions and the 3-0 scoreline at half time was well
deserved.
From the kick off, William and Connor kept the team moving forward, but
it was a Daniel L tackle and through ball that allowe...

SCJFC Blues 0 v 1 Failsworth West Tigers .........By Alun Ireland...........
A late winner from Failsworth West meant that the Blues slipped to
defeat despite an upbeat performance.
The boys played well and probably deserved a point after having the
majority of the play and the chances in the first half.
Only a brave display by the Failsworth keeper kept the scores level at
half time as first William, then Connor and Adam threatened to put the
Blues in front.
With Daniel S an...

Moston Brook 2 v 6 SCJFC Whites
The Whites had a tough top of the table contest today against 2nd place Moston Brook.
It was Moston who started the brighter and took an early lead within 2 minutes from some sloppy play from the Celts.
Celtic continued to play poorly though all credit to Moston who capitalized and made in 2 nil within 7 minutes.
Stalybridge then realized they had to move up a gear and some good passing helped Niall to finish to put the Whites back in the game.
Further atta...

Stalybridge Celtic Whites 6 v 0 Moston Junior Reds..By Tim Kieran....
A nice and sunny winter morning with a 9am kick off saw Celtic start the game with lots of confidence, setting a high tempo with the midfield well in control keeping possession and using the football with intelligence.
Six minutes in and a clearance from Joe fell to Niall in the Moston penalty area, Niall slipped and we thought the chance had gone but on his way down a slight touch had the ball rolling into the net...
