The weather outside was frightful but the score was so delightful Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let em Score!

In what were the toughest conditions of the season so far, our Iron boys fought and battled till the end and in all honesty it must have felt like pure misery, but they kept going with a determination that impressed us all and I would like to say a massive well done to each and every one of you we are all really proud of you.

Anyway this will be short and sweet as my pen refused to work on wet paper and to be honest a little bit of brain freeze set in (I am a girl and it was cold!).

Starting line up, Lewis and Matty in their usual positions of goal and defence, Fin and Adam in the mid and up front and raring to go Luke and Reece. Right from the start it was all action and our first opportunity came from a poor clearance from the Chaddy keeper to Luke who was unlucky by a few inches but seconds later with the same mistake from the keeper to Adam who made no mistake and put it in the net 1-0. Well done Adam.

Reece and Adam came in with strong powerhouse performances, Fin contributed full strength in attack, midfield and defence and Luke chased every ball with dogged determination which earned him Man of the Match.

Approaching half time and the Chaddy boys put some pressure on our defence which led to several fantastic saves from Lewis, probably his busiest match in quite a while and some great clearances from Matty, one in particular (for which he secured a medal) that gave Fin our second goal which he placed neatly in the net from an extreme angle in extreme conditions - 2-0. Well done Fin.

To be honest the second half was all a blur as the snow and the cold worsened even the parents were suffering, Mads abandoned the match and took her brother home to warm up and the football even turned blue with the cold!

Lewis stayed sharp throughout the second half as the pressure piled on but no one could stop Fin as he powered a long shot at goal and scored our final goal of the match - 3-0. Sam also had a great run with a stunning pass through a packed area to Adam who just missed the target but hey at this stage of the game the target sort of blended in somewhat!

To the end the boys fought hard in what must have been the toughest conditions I have ever seen a boys footy match played in, so well done boys your determination, team spirit and strength shone through and I think you lot could climb Everest in years to come. Don’t know what else to say really I am overcome with emotion! Well done again, keep it going lads.
