Another game of domination, goals and excellent team work!
The starting line up for the Whites this week was Lewis in goal, Sam in defence, Fin and Adam in midfield and Luke and Reece up front. Wes was sub.
Straight away the action started for the Whites and they certainly listened to the Managers' advice that this was a tough team to beat and to go out and do their stuff. After only a few seconds Adam took a throw in to Fin who battled for the ball together with Sam but Chadderton won the fight and shot at goal which Lewis successfully saved. After this shot on goal the lads knuckled down and for the rest of the half were in control of possession.
Lewis continued the play by kicking the ball down field to Adam who passed to Luke who was about to take shot at goal when was tackled and the ball went out of play for a corner. Fin shot the ball into the area which was defended well but landed at Luke's feet. Luke retained possession and passed through to Reece's feet who shot at goal and scored - 1-0.
Straight from the kick off again we gained possession and all Chadderton could do was try and tackle our players and kick it off the sidelines. Chaddy then had a good run upfield but Sam defended well and sent the ball back down to our area where Luke did a fantastic cross to Reece who in turn scored a fantastic goal - 2-0.
We then had a bit of a tussle with the Dragons with them first tackling Fin and bringing him down. Ref awarded him a free kick which Fin swooped into the area but unfortunately it was saved. A few seconds later Reece tackled Chadderton and they were awarded the free kick. They went for our goal but Lewis saved well again and sent the ball out for a corner. Chaddy had the ball in their end but once again Sam defended well and stopped them in their tracks.
The ball then soon arrived back at our end and was kicked off by Chaddy for a corner to us. Fin did a short corner to Reece who went for his hat trick but the ball unfortunately went just wide of the post.
Another free kick was awarded to us after another tackle by the Dragons which Fin struck well but unfortunately hit the crossbar this time resulting in a scramble for the ball in the goal mouth area which Luke wrestled with their goalkeeper and defence for and found the goal - 3-0 just before the half time whistle blew.
Second half began with changes to the line up - Lewis still in goal, Reece in defence, Sam and Fin in midfield and Luke and Wes up front. Adam was sub.
Only a few seconds into the second half Fin struck the ball at the net yet again but once again it was saved by their keeper and sent out for a corner. Fin crossed the ball through to Sam who was unlucky not to score too. The ball was sent down to the Chadderton Park and Sam worked hard to chase it and bring it back down the line and crossed into the area but the ball went out of play resulting in a corner to Chadderton. The Dragons sent the ball flying into the area which one of their players took a shot at goal but Lewis was there yet again to save the day. Wes was chasing around and working hard to reach the ball but unfortunately could not seem to get in an area where the ball could get through to him as Chadderton had him covered most of the second half.
The Dragons then found themselves with a free kick which they kicked up field which Luke intercepted and he had a great run but was brought down and awarded a free kick. Luke this time took the free kick and bang the ball went straight into the goal - 4-0.
Adam then came back on from the sub's bench in place of Fin and once again ran around helping to pass the ball around and taking the throw ins.
Luke was fouled again and took another free kick. He hit the ball sweetly and it swooped straight over the heads of the Chadderton Park Dragons' defence and landed in the back of the net - 5-0. Another hat trick for Luke.
Chadderton then found themselves with space and time with the ball as we seemed to lose a bit of formation and found ourselves with no defence and Sam found himself running to our rescue on a number of occasions. Another shot on goal by Chadderton and another fantastic save by Lewis into the area which Sam cleared.
There then resulted another few challenges on goal first by the Whites with Luke striking the ball at their keeper who made a successful save. It was then the Dragons' turn to challenge Lewis who did two more fantastic saves, the second came out of his hands but Reece neatly removed the ball from the danger zone.
There followed another great run by Sam who shot at goal and just missed goal again. After their goal kick we soon had the ball back under our control and Sam did another great pass to Luke who struck at goal but this time he hit the crossbar.
Full time whistle and another fine victory for the boys who played the majority of the game passing, in possession of the ball, defending well and scoring some great goals.
