STALYBRIDGE CELTIC BLUES ‘5’ – FAILSWORTH VILLA BLUES ‘0’ By Alan Davies
After a few weeks off it did not take the Celtic long to establish a hold on the game and cause the Failsworth defence problems. Jordan was always a threat with both Callum’s going close early on. However it was Marcus who opened the scoring latching onto a loose ball and firing it into the back of the net. Up to this stage the Failsworth keeper had done well. The teams went in 1-0 at half time but it should have been more. The second half saw Celtic pressing forward and it was not long before Jordan scored a goal with a neat finish at the near post from a looping cross. From this it was Celtic all the way with Callum Rawson poaching a goal from a foot out and Lewis picking up two at the far post unmarked. Failsworth broke through but a fine diving save from Mathew saw Celtic register a convincing win and move to the top of the table. Man of the Match Lewis.
