Stalybridge Celtic U8 Whites 1 v 4 Curzon Ashton

Aggregate result 2-5 Aggregate Loss
Firstly please excuse the cumulative nature of the report.
For both teams this was in every sense of the word a battle. Tough tackles, very tough tackles, injured players Curzon were out to disrupt the flow of both teams play. The teams gave a good account of themselves however with William Hughes (Whites) conjuring up a top corner free kick, and Jack Forrester (Blues) was typically clinical in his finish for the Blues after a neat driven free kick from Harvey Swann.
The reason for the 4 Men of the match (2 Games) is the simple fact that the games were a real team affair. For the Blues Harvey was a rock at the back and Joe was the ever willing runner up front. Lewis McMinn and William Frankish were the unfortunate casualties of the game. For the Whites Tonys showed some real glimpses of promise and was unlucky on a few occasions not to score, whilst Callum ran his socks off.
You cant win them all. Well done to all the players. Interleague cup semi final next week to look forward to..
