Avros B 1 v 2 SCJFC Blues.......By Rob Dolan.......

This was a closely fought game with very few chances created early on.  Tyler looked like he was going to break the deadlock but the keeper came out to save well.  Connor then had a strong run down the right wing and finished with a shot which the keeper managed to block.  At the back, Jack I and Niall ensured that Avro’s chances were limited and on the one occasion that they did break through, Deacon pulled off a great save.  Dan S was looking dangerous and he created an opening for himself but once again the Avro keeper kept the Blues at bay.  There was some good one touch passing particularly between Archie and Connor but at half time the score remained at 0-0.

In the second half, Niall and James defended well and the Blues were unlucky to concede a goal from a scrappy corner.  Almost immediately, Dan S made a great run down the right, the keeper could not keep hold of his powerful shot and Connor was on hand to score the equaliser.  Connor  then changed from goalscorer to creator, he set up Tyler but unfortunately, his shot went over the bar.  Avro then conceded an own goal to make it 2-1 to the Blues.    Dan S, Connor and Tyler then created further chances.  Final score 2-1 – well done for a great team effort and a special mention for Deacon for some great kicking, James for some excellent defensive work and Niall who worked tirelessly throughout the game.

Avros A 3 v 1 SCJFC Whites

This game started in a similar fashion to the Blues with very few chances created in the opening minutes.  Unfortunately, the Whites then conceded from a corner.  However, they did not let their heads drop and Adam put a great ball through to Callum who powered the ball in to the net.  The Whites were unlucky not to add a second with a great move where Callum laid the ball off to Jack; he hit the ball first time but just missed the target.  Owen and Brandon were playing well at the back and Robson was looking lively at the other end, he finished the half off with a run and a low shot which the keeper managed to save.  Half time 1-1.

In the second half, Avro were fortunate to take the lead, a shot took a wicked deflection which left Thomas D with no chance.  Both sides then struggled to create chances but the opponents extended their lead to 3-1 following a hotly contested goal where there was a definite hint of hand ball.

Final score 3-1
