U9's Whites v AFC Clayton Sat 19th Nov

Stalybridge Celtic Whites 3-0 AFC Clayton     By Phil Read

The Whites managed to bounce straight back from their first defeat of the season with a convincing win against AFC Clayton. The Whites commanded play from the beginning with some excellent play from Sam, Nic and Jack with everyone other than Josh managing to get a shot away. The Whites were rewarded early on when a fierce shot from Jack bounced back off the post in to the path of Shay, scoring the teams first. They continued to pressure and following a run from Jack on the right he played the back to Sam who found to top corner from just outside the box to make the lead 2:0. Soon after Nic found space on the left and fired a shot that cracked against the cross bar. Nic was eventually rewarded for his effort finding the back of the net from the left to take the score to 3:0 at half time. The Whites continued to press in the second half and whilst the passing wasn't as slick as the first half looked the most dangerous of the two teams with Nic hitting the crossbar again from a free kick and Rhys unlucky to find an inform keeper thwarting him late on to leave the score at 3:0 at full time.
