U12's Win Corinthians

The U12's beat Manchester Corinthians 4-3 in a fantastic match with both sides producing some great attacking football.

Corinthians started strong, packing the midfield and controlling play. Josh & Fletch were being over run but we got a goal on the break with Kyle adding to his impressive tally this season chipping the keeper with a great finish. Aidan produced 2 fantastic reaction saves to keep us in the game but before long they equalised.

We moved Alex inside leaving Stucky on his own on the right and and it worked well with Jamie sliding a great ball through for Kyle to score again. Corinthians equalised after we failed to clear a ball in the box.

Aidan was really quick with his distribution today, and Ethan & Stucky gave him some great outlets & Ethan started some great moves with Marshy.

We started the second half far stronger, we seemed to camp in their half after moving Fletch to partner Garrett, with Callum G on the right the defence looked comofortable. Alex & Josh stared to dictate play with Morgan & James really looking good. JamieD really is looking the part as a striker & with Kyle they are starting to look a real handful.

Josh put us 4-2 up with 2 wonder goals from way outside the box & Alex was trying to get in on the act peppering their goal.

Corinthians got one back, after a couple of our lads were not strong enough & Aidan had no chance, but he kept us in it saving a couple of one on ones, before Corinthians missed a penalty. They were slowly get back in it before George came on and got back into his stride. Keiran added another dimension & really impressed with some good skills. He's started to settle in now and looking good.

This was a really enjoyable match. Great credit to Corinthains who mixed the style of their play. They laid the ball off with their backs to goal for attacking midfielders to step onto which created some great chances for them until we changed the midfield. They then played on the break but our defence & keeper look really solid.

Man of the match had to goal to Josh, not for his wonder goals but his all round performance. All our lads are playing with confidence and really trying to play some decent passing football but as a team they are really fighting for each other.

When we think back how we used to get battered years ago when the Corinthians played as the Vipers it shows the team is developing well.

Well done lads, brilliant effort and you deserved to win.

See you all Thursday.
