U12's win the local derby.

The U12's beat Curzon Ashton 3-2 in a great open game. Both sides played attacking footbal that went from end to end with the Celtic lads just holding on in the end.

We started the day a little apprehensive, with no Aidan, Fletch, George or James and still missing Gary, Sean & Lewis we were down to the bare bones against a strong Curzon team.

After 10 mins we could see the Celtic lads were up for it. Gaskin played his first game at centre half & didn't put a foot wrong all day, supported by Garrett who is having is best season for years, supported by Stucky & Marshy they stood strong & Curzon were getting no opportunities to shoot.

Josh & Alex started well in midfield sliding some really nice balls through for Kyle & Jamie up front supported by some great play by Morgan & Keiran. We looked strong and soon started creating chances. Jamie tapped one in on the line followed by Kyle 2.0 at half time & looking good.

Jamie broke free in the second half & drilled one in the bottom corner to go 3.0 up. We had quite a few more chances but the Curzon keeper was really brave & quick off his line keeping them in the game.

We started to tire and Curzon had plenty of fresh legs to bring on to make a difference. Curzon started getting stronger & were over running our midfield. Our defence with Josh in front were holding back the waves of attack but eventually they got a good shot at the near post, followed by another a few minutes later with Jamie clearing off the line in the last few minutes. Curzon looked sure to get an equaliser but we just about held out.

Ethan got man of the match, stepping into Aidans shoes is a big ask but in his first game in goal he did very well but was thankful his mates had protected him for most of the match.

A brilliant result lads, great effort, fantatastic attitude and a real team performance.
