U9's Whites v Moston Brook Sat 15th Oct

Stalybridge Celtic Whites 5-1 Moston Brook By Phil Read

The White's fine start to the season continued on Saturday.

They soon found themselves 1.0 up when Rhys fired in a fierce shot and
whilst the goalie made a great save Jack responded first to slot in the
rebound. Shortly after the goal Shay also unleashed a fine shot which was
also unfortunately met by the keeper.

Despite a fair bit of possession for the remainder of the half the
opposition managed to smother the player with the ball and keep the
scoreline down to 1.0 at half time.

After encouragement to spread the ball around at half time the boys
responded superbly and soon found themselves 2.0 up with a great strike
by Nic. Pretty much straight from the kick off the Whites won the ball back
and it was played out wide to Jack who managed to draw a couple of players
and then switch the ball to the right which was met by Rhys to make it 3.0.

Against the run of play Moston managed to steal the ball
at the edge of the box and pulled a goal back.

As with previous games the lads continued to keep their shape and didn't
panic and continued to press for more goals.

Midway through the second half the Whites again broke down the left and
Jack played a perfectly weighted ball over the top of the defence. The ball
was met first time by Rhys slotting the ball past the keeper in to the back
of the net.

The Whites were not finished there and before the end of the game Shay
found the ball at his feet and using some silky skills, made some room for
himself to turn and fire home the final goal of the game.
