15s (Sunday) 2 - Middleton Lads 3

It was first (Celtic) versus second today (yes I know this is only our 3rd game of the season), so it was going to be a good test for the lads. Once again it was more like Chigaco than Manchester as the wind was blowing from on end of the pitch to the other, good thing was we seemed to have learnt from the same conditions on Tuesday. In the first half we played with the wind and took the game to Middleton, plenty of chances came our way, but we ere unable to score. Middleton had chances of their own and surprisingly took the lead. A defensive clearance found one of their players offside (no whistle from the ref), who took the ball on, beat Charlie and slotted the ball home. Then straight from the kick off Danny played a long ball up the right hand side of the pitch, Dylan received the ball, beat the full back and slotted the ball home (a move they had discussed before the game, or so they told us). Half time 1-1. Second half much the same as the first, then Middleton played the ball through, the ball bounced high, Charlie went to collect, however, their player with raised foot raised managed to beat Charlie and put the ball into the net. Dylan then went close by hitting the post. Middleton rallied andtheir skillful forward cut across the back four from the left and with a well struck shot from outside the box beat Charlie. This rallied the Celts who pushed on and eventually Adam found the ball at his feet outside the box and with a sweet drive placed the ball into the top corner of the net. We pushed on for an equaliser, but the refs whistle beat us to it. Full time 2-3.

Another good display today, pity about the result, only 23 games left to make amends.
