U11s Retain Dukinfield Crown

Stalybridge Under 11s defended their title at the Dukinfield Youth pre-season tournament by defeating Delamere Rangers in a tense penalty shoot-out after the final ended 1-1.

Celtic were unbeaten in the group stage, but needed to recover from being a goal down with six minutes to go in the final qualifying game to progess. Three goals in those final six minutes calmed the nerves on the touchline, but there was more nail-biting to come.
 
Tom put Bridge ahead in the final after his shot from the edge of the box hit the bar and bounced down over the line. Delamere equalised and although Stalybridge pressed for a winner, the game ended deadlocked and both teams faced up to the pressure of penalties. Nathan, Brad, Jack and Dan all scored before Rangers missed their fourth spot kick, allowing Max to coolly step up and dispatch the winning kick.

Well done lads and hopefully its a good sign ahead of the first league game next Saturday.
