Celtic finished the league season on a high with a comfortable win, Stalybridge were in total control throughout the game, they were a pleasure to watch with outstanding goals on show also top quality slick passing and good movement, the distribution from Tom was top drawer and within a few passes Celtic were up at the edge of the opposing box firing goals in .
Robson opened the account-a well taken header leaping above the defenders and directing the ball into the bottom corner from an Oscar corner.
Two minutes later another Oscar corner saw Joe make it 2-0, his shot from a tight angle saw the ball squirm under the keeper.
Celtic continued to play with quality, good passing, one touch football and plenty of movement and understanding, this was evident as Oscar nearly scored, a great first time shot, the ball heading for the top corner but somehow North sides keeper got a fingertip to it to push it wide, a great save. Just before half-time Dec was unlucky to see his low drive come back off the upright. 2-0 at the break.
The second half saw a flurry of goals, 4 from Celtic and 1 from Northside.
Robson got his second, credit to Tom, a great throw out found Robson who interchanged passes with Oscar, then Robson duly finished with a hard low drive, 3-0. Dec made it 4 with a superb solo goal then less than a minute later made it 5. Northside did get a consolation, catching Celtic out with a good break, Celtics defence went walkabout momentarily leaving a big gap behind with Tom exposed. The ball ended up in the back off the net.
There was no panic so Tom played outfield with Joe standing between the sticks, Tom made his presence felt with strong powerful runs and showing good composure on the ball, he even topped it off with a well taken header, and came very close to scoring twice more. Joe did well in the nets, diving down to his right with a good stop, which he enjoyed as you could tell with his big grin.
To round it off - a great display from the boys, excellent football, a great spectacle. Well done to all.
