U'11's WIN LEAGUE CUP FINAL

The U'11's won the League Cup Final 3-2 in a brilliant game at Seal Park Mossley.

The Bridge lads came from 2-0 down at half time to win 3-2 in extra time.

Glossop started strongly & dominated the early stages. Kyle, Fletch & Joe put in the work but we were chasing shadows. Joe got injured to be replaced by Stuckey but we could not get used to the full size pitch & Glossop scored with what looked like a cross from a tight angle, followed quickly by a penalty. 2-0 down at half time Glossop must have thought they had won the game. We were all over the place with Aiden on top form to keep it at 2.0

The half time time team talk was not about a team looking at defeat.  Team talk was easy......go and win it for Gary & George who were in plaster, it worked, they came out like a different team.

We changed formation and attacked. Lewis & Alex get their passing game going in midfield & we instantly looked stronger. Stuckey put in some great challenges with Sean & Garrett adding some pace into defence. Ethan & Callum kept their quick wingers quiet which took a lot of effort as Glossop were quick on the break.

Stuckey changed some nice passes with Alex setting up Jamie to cut the ball back to Josh, he dummied to feed Callum to place it home. 2-1, game on.

Fletch was everywhere, De Jong cant tackle as well as this lad. Alex linked well with Lewis who slid a beautiful ball through for Jmaie to ride 3 challenges before sliding it home. 2-2 and they were on the back foot. Glossop remainded dangerous on the break but Gazza had his best game, with Ethan, Sean & Stuckey working hard to keep them at bay. Aiden pulled off a double save with Stuckey clearing off the line to go to extra time.

Extra time, Morgan came into his own & retained the ball which created space. The game went from end to end but we knew we were going to score. Jamie again, 3-2, backs to the wall, showed real spirit and saw out the game.

Brilliant day for the lads, hard on Glossop who are a great team. They had the first half, no doubt, but what a performace to come back & win.

That was great team peformace, every player did his job, including Joshua, Gary & George chearing from the touchlines who helped us get in the final.
