U9s Blues Draw game they should have won!

Middleton Colts 1 V 1 SCJFC Blues.................By Rob Jones.......................
This was a frustrating game that the blues should have won convincingly, but bad
luck, poor finishing and an outstanding display from Middleton’s keeper
resulted in them only taking a point against one of the weaker teams in
the league. The Blues were camped in the Middleton half for almost all
of the first period, the keeper making fine saves from shots by Adam,
Owen and Daniel L. The only time Middleton created a chance Conor
chased back and put in a fine tackle to clear the danger. Just before
half time a brilliant run down the left wing by Will ended in a shot
that hit the side netting. HT 0-0
The second half started like the first, with Middleton's keeper making two great saves from shots by Conor and Owen.
But half way through the second half, Middleton broke out of defence and with Stalybridge having committed too many men forward Daniel S was left on his own against three attackers and a fine shot left Deacon in goal with no chance Completely against the run of play the Blues were one down. More chances came and went for Stalybridge and it seemed like it was going to be one of those days, until Adam set up Conor who made
no mistake with a shot into the far corner.  Stalybridge piled on the
pressure looking for the winner but the closest they came was a shot
from Adam that was saved by the keeper outside his area. The resulting
free kick offered a great chance but it was taken too early and the
chance was lost. FT 1-1. Fine performances today by Conor (Man of the
Match), Will and Daniel S
