U9s Blues lose out to late strike!

SCJFC Blues 0 v 1 Failsworth West Tigers .........By Alun Ireland...........

A late winner from Failsworth West meant that the Blues slipped to
defeat despite an upbeat performance.
The boys played well and probably deserved a point after having the
majority of the play and the chances in the first half.
Only a brave display by the Failsworth keeper kept the scores level at
half time as first William, then Connor and Adam threatened to put the
Blues in front.
 With Daniel S and Deacon looking secure at the back. Connor and William
were able to really trouble the Tigers midfield.
But in the second half the Blues let Failsworth back into the game, and
they took their chance having more of the play and isolating Daniel S
and Thomas on too many occasions.
It was on one of these breaks where Failsworth managed to score the
only goal of the game, and the Blues never looked like getting back
into it. In fact, only two excellent saves from Thomas kept the score
to one.
Man of the match was Daniel S – but he must have been pushed by
William, Connor, Deacon and Thomas.
