REDDISH VILLA U11s 4 - 2 STALYBRIDGE CELTIC BLUES U11s
On a very windy and disappointing day we crashed out of the Primary Cup at the first hurdle. Reddish a league below Celtic started the better and soon found themselves 2-0 up , both goals gifted to them. It was then that our boys decided to wake up and they started to play some good passing football causing Reddish some real problems and when the referee awarded us a free kick on the edge of the area up stepped Captain fantastic, Josh Graham to lift the ball to an unmarked Brad Mcglochlin who side footed home. GAME ON !!!
Celtic continued to push forward and were again awarded a free kick on the edge of the area. Josh stepped up again but this time he only had one thing in his mind and he smashed the ball home , 2-2 could it be Waterloo all over again where we came from 2 down to win 4-2 ?
Half time came at the wrong time for Celtic who were enjoying much more of the possesion but the boys were right back in the driving seat. Unfortunatley that's where it all ended as Reddish scored early in the second half , yet another gift and when their centre forward turned neatly in the box and smashed the ball into the top corner it was game over.
Man of the match was given to Luke Marshall who battled hard and kept things simple , rarely putting a foot wrong, well done.
Today was a wake up call to our boys who went in to todays game with a 100% record thinking the game was won before we had kicked a ball.
See you all at training on Wednesday 6pm - 7pm.
Ric.
