Stalybridge Celtic 2 - Chadderton Park Lions 7 By Joanne Wood Another glorious day of sunshine but Celtic faced tough opposition against a strong side. The Lions took the lead almost straight away followed by a good few shots on goal by Celtic, but unfortunately not in the back of the net. The lead was then increased by two further great goals from the Lions. Will's defending and a cracking save from Reece prevented the lead being bigger, however it was only a short time as a 4th goal was scored by the Lions. Again, there were a couple of missed chances by Celtic before Chancely managed to find the back of the net followed swiftly by an own goal bringing the scoreline to 5-2. Celtic did a valiant job of keeping the pressure on the Lions with George making some good runs up the pitch with the ball. Rhys and Lewis had good attempts on goal but another goal for Celtic was not to be. A further 2 goals from the opposition brought the final score to 7-2 but as always Celtic showed real fighting spirit and played well against a good team. Man of the match Chancely.
