Under 12's Match Report - Celtic vs Denton Youth

Venue Blocksages Pitch 3

A superb team effort against the league leaders - the Blues were down 2 - 0 within 10 mins, but the next 10 minutes showed the potential of this under 12's side. A long range rocket from Liam Greenhough, followed by quick sucessive strikes from Ben Caton and Chris Muir. 3 - 2 up with 1/2 time approaching.

2nd half saw Denton comeback strongly equalizing the score with a breakaway after a Stalybridge corner. But the Blues lead was restored with another strike from Ben Caton. Again Denton persevered and equalized to bring us to a 4 - 4 scoreline.

Yet more drama, as Ben Caton was brought down by the keeper and awarded a penalty which he cooly slotted away to give him a well deserved hat-trick.

More twists unfolded as Will Cave rounded the keeper and from a tight angle hit the inside of the post, but the fortunate Denton made the most of their luck and yet again  equalized to bring us to a breath taking 5 - 5 scoreline.

With 2 minutes remaining the game looked all over with a point a piece a fair result, but a break away from ex Blues player Tyrone Broad saw the ball break kindy for him as he played in the forward to finish with the last kick of the game. A cruel end to an outstnding Blues display. 6 - 5 to Denton Youth.

Man of the Match - Ben Caton for a superb overall display and hatrick.
